This report was produced in direct response to Action 325 of The Action Plan for Jobs where the sector was asked to ‘Identify best practice initiatives which are being taken by Local Authorities to support retail at a local level which could serve as exemplars for consideration by other Local Authority areas'.   It offers an insight into the work undertaken at local level by local authorities to support, encourage and improve retail conditions and opportunities.
