The County and City Managers' Association (CCMA) have produced an animated video to promote the wide-ranging services that are provided by local authorities and increase awareness around their role within communities. A Transition Year Initiative developed by the LGMA Access Officer Network, in conjunction with the National Disability Authority (NDA) created opportunities for students to raise awareness around accessibility and disability-related issues using their artistic skills.
The Building Control Management System (BCMS) was developed by LGMA and Fingal County County and implemented in March 2014 allowing for the submission of notifications, applications and compliance certificates online.
The Water Services (Amendment) Act 2012 requires water services authorities to maintain a register of domestic waste water treatment systems. Following a successful process of compiling this register, a Citizen Engagement Campaign around the health and environmental risks associated with septic tanks has been developed.

An Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr. Eamon Gilmore, T.D. and the Minister for Housing and Planning, Ms. Jan O’Sullivan, T.D. launched the Right to Read Campaign on July 3rd in Charleville Mall Library. Right to Read is a new national initiative which aims to greatly enhance literacy levels throughout the country. It will be delivered in all local authorities through a nationally coordinated framework for literacy support and development.

The Building Control Management System (BCMS) was developed by LGMA and Fingal County County and implemented in March 2014. It allows property owners, builders, developers, architects and engineers to submit notifications, applications and compliance certificates online. It provides an internal management system for the processing of notices received online and over the counter in local authorities.
